Lawrence B. Perkins and Philip Will, Jr. founded Perkins+Will on a vision and set of core values that continue to guide us today. They were classmates, colleagues and friends who grew their practice from our neighborhoods and schools into a firm that has helped shape our cities and transform our profession as a whole.
Since 1935, Perkins+Will has been built on the strength of our talent and our relationships. The firm has grown through the quality of our work, the passion of our team and our commitment to developing ideas and buildings that honor the broader goals of society. We have diversified the services that we offer our clients, expanded our areas of practice and have refined the expertise that was evident the day we broke ground at Crow Island School. Today, our team numbers more than 1,500 passionate professionals who have worked in multiple countries across the globe. Our continued growth is a result of our commitment to our mission. Today, and every day, we continue to collaborate with our clients to create spaces that express a shared vision while enhancing the lives of our clients, communities and society at large.
We are fortunate to have recently celebrated our 75th anniversary. In May of 2010, Perkins+Will was one of three recipients of the 2010 National Building Museum Honor Award for our commitment to civic innovation in design, construction and education throughout our 75-year history. This marked the first time an architecture firm was selected as an Honor Award recipient since the award’s inception in 1986. In addition to this recognition, we commemorated the year with the launch of a new website in September and the release of two new publications in December, Perkins+Will 75th Anniversary Monograph and Ideas+Buildings
